Spotlight: Cleveland Museum of Natural History

Established in 1920, the Cleveland Museum of Natural History has upheld a steadfast commitment to the advancement of science, education, research, conservation, and community engagement.

Recently, the museum embarked on a significant renovation project, seeking to create an actively sustainable building. To achieve its goals, the museum collaborated with the DLR Group, a global, integrated design firm with a core practice in architecture, engineering, interiors, and planning.

To address all client requirements, DLR reached out to K-array USA who recommended KSCAPE’s RAIL system for its ability to seamlessly integrate with the museum's design while simultaneously delivering professional-quality audio and lighting capabilities. In total, 120 RAIL diffused systems, 4 Kommander-KA02, and 1 Kommander-KA34 were installed throughout the museum.

One of the museum's primary challenges was the meeting room, where the need for exceptional video conferencing and voice clarity was paramount. To meet this demand, 12 RAIL systems were strategically positioned horizontally in six rows across the ceiling. This layout ensured optimal voice clarity for participants seated along the length of the meeting table.

The classrooms, the largest area to cover, were designed with flexibility in mind. RAIL systems here were flush mounted into the Armstrong suspended ceilings, providing a uniform design and consistent audio coverage.

Rao's Miami Beach, an extension of the culinary national treasure, Rao's New York, continues to elevate the dining experience to new heights. Known for its authentic southern Neapolitan Italian cooking and family ambiance, Rao's New York earned three stars from The New York Times and has been described as "exquisitely simple Italian cooking." Now, Rao's Miami Beach located in the  St. Moritz Tower at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel, has taken another step towards perfection by partnering with K-array, an Italian audio brand that shares a passion for excellence and craftsmanship.

As two prestigious Italian brands, K-array and Rao's share a commitment to excellence, artistry, and a passion for delivering an unforgettable experience. This partnership marks a harmonious union of culinary and auditory delight in the heart of Miami Beach.

The custom installation at Rao's Miami Beach features a carefully curated selection of K-array and KGEAR speakers, subwoofers, and amplifiers to provide a rich soundscape that complements the restaurant's luxurious ambiance. Stan Beran, President of Sound Performance, brought this vision to life, ensuring that every note and nuance of music can be appreciated by diners and visitors.

Spotlight: Pavion

Pavion, a leading US technology integrator and K-array USA dealer, opened a new regional office in Raleigh, North Carolina, in collaboration with IA Architects. This initiative aimed to serve as a platform for showcasing Pavion's cutting-edge technology solutions while creating an inspiring and productive workspace.

A significant element in the project was KSCAPE's RAIL, which became the focal point of lighting and sound integration. Its adaptable lighting modes perfectly suited Pavion's multifunction areas. With CASAMBI control, the team could effortlessly adjust the lighting to enhance productivity or create the desired ambiance. The cost-efficiency of a single device with multiple functions further cemented the decision.

Seventy-five ceiling-hung RAIL units formed the backbone of the system, ensuring consistent sound and lighting coverage in different areas. RAIL not only excelled in audio distribution but also enhanced the office's aesthetics with sleek lines of light. Four K-array Rumble subwoofers, strategically placed in the reception area and Experience Center, further enhanced the audio experience.

Tom Ríby, Global Sales & Marketing Manager at KSCAPE, stated, "We embarked on a mission to redefine the office experience by fusing sound and light technology. Working with Pavion, who shares our goals, has been an exciting journey we look forward to sharing with clients seeking to redesign their office spaces into inspiring and productive environments."
