Port Marina and Restaurant, formerly known as Harbor View, has reopened its doors after extensive renovations, offering visitors a unique dining experience on the waterfront of Cape May, New Jersey. Part of Zest Restaurant Group, this informal outdoor eatery serves delicious seafood, refreshing drinks, and breathtaking views of the Cape May Harbor.

To complement this one-of-a-kind setting, the owners sought an audio solution that could withstand the harsh marine environment while delivering exceptional sound quality. They turned to K-array USA and local integrator, Nanotech Solutions, to bring their vision to life.

The venue will not only serve as a restaurant but also as an entertainment hotspot, featuring guest DJs and live music performances. This versatility demanded a sound system capable of handling various audio sources and volumes while maintaining clarity and quality.

The audio system at Port Marina showcases K-array's innovative approach to speaker design, featuring a range of products that combine sleek aesthetics with powerful performance:

  • Six Kobra-KK102MX I line array elements: These marine-grade speakers are housed in durable stainless steel frames and custom-finished with a reflective chrome effect. Boasting Pure Array Technology the Kobra line produces a natural quality sound and offers a unique performance-to-size ratio. 

  • Three Rumble-KU315 subwoofers: These ultra-slim passive subwoofers provide powerful low-end reinforcement while resisting tough weather conditions, making them ideal for outdoor installations.

  • Six Vyper-KV52MX II speakers: Also featuring marine-grade construction and a custom reflective chrome finish, these speakers are housed in elegant 2"-deep aluminum frames, making them the flattest speakers in K-array's portfolio.

  • One Kommander-KA208 amplifier: This Class D amplifier offers pristine sound and complete control over the connected loudspeakers.

  • Two KGEAR GF82W I line array column speakers: These ultra-compact speakers provide additional coverage where needed.

  • One Truffle-KTR26 subwoofer: This compact sub adds extra low-end punch to round out the system.

All marine-grade speakers installed at Port Marina feature K-array's specially developed finish for marine applications. This custom treatment allows the speakers to resist bad weather and oxidation caused by salt water, ensuring longevity in a coastal environment.

The Kobra and Vyper speakers were given a high reflective custom chrome effect finish, seamlessly blending with the restaurant's aesthetic while providing powerful audio performance. This installation is an excellent example of K-array's ability to deliver tailored audio solutions that meet both the functional and visual requirements of unique venues like Port Marina and Restaurant.
